4 Day Tour -  Moegok -  Ruby Land ( 4D/3N )

Moegok the famous Ruby land and mines are located at the north of Mandalay city.

Moegok is surrounded by high mountains of Shan plateau and the city looks like a pan shape and a lake at the heart of the town centre. Since 13th Century, the Chinese merchant trade exchanged their products with Moegok gems. The mines are runned under British companies from 1886 to 1932. After the second world war, Myanmar gained independence and all mines was taken responsibility by Myanmar government gems enterprise.

Nowaday, Moegok mines are joint-venture works with private local companies and government. There are open pit water pumping mines and underground man-made mines still running around Moegok. The gems of Moegok are ruby, sapphire, purple sapphire, star sapphire, spinel, lolite, garnet, quartz, peridot, topaz, danburite, tourmaline, apatite, lipis lazuli, amethyst, moonstone, scapolite, zercon, onyx, chysoberyl, poudretteite and others valuable stones.

Moegok is restricted area for tourists, but possible to visit as guided tour permitted by government authorities.

Moegok trip is an extension trip from Mandalay.

Day 1. Mandalay - Moegok (Car)

The trip is exciting adventure. Drive the plain land to Madaya and a short excursion trip to Sagyin village ,almost all houses in which village are incredible art and craftman works of marble Buddha and other statues. The surrounding mountains are covered with white marble stones for their products.

Carry trip to Shan Pleatue of Moegok on switched back roads. Stops on interesting points at Kyat Pyin village. Evening arrive to Moegok and relax.

Day 2. Moegok

Morning walk in town centre to try Moegok favourite snacks, walk in gems market street, chatting at gems broker's cafe', stone cutting workshops. Afternoon visit gems market locally known as "Htar Pwe" visit underground mines and study their field experienced.

Evening sunset at a hillock around Moegok.

Day 3. Moegok - Pyin Oo Lwin (Car)

Visit the old mine lake located at the centre of Moegok and heading trip to

Palaung tribe villages and Shan tribe villages. Mid-day arrive to Pyin Oo Lwin (Formerly known as Maymyo) to visit BE water fall , old train station, horse coach ride around the town to stay .

Day 4. Pyin Oo Lwin - Mandalay (Car)

Pyin Oo Lwin is the fresh hill station near Mandalay. Visit morning market, botanical garden of Pyin Oo Lwin and governor house.

(If chance, possible to visit Dattaw Gyint water fall trek - duration: 2 hours)

Drive downhill to Mandalay city, the gate way of upper Myanmar.

4 Day Tour - Mt. Victoria ( 4D/3N )

Day 1: Bagan - Chauk - Kanpalet

Morning drive by 4x4, south from Bagan to Chauk town, cross the Irrawaddy River by the bridgr to Kazunma village. Lunch at local restaurant, then drive on across the Pon Taung and Pon Nyar mountain ranges, through teak forest. Evening arrive to the valley town of Saw at the base of the Chin Hills. Carry uphill drivr to Kanpalet town. Walk in town and overnight at hotel.

Car drop-off at Mt. Victoria National Park base camp (7000 ft.) , trek through evergreen forests , rhododendron and montane forest to the summit at 10,200 ft. After enjoying the beautiful views over the Chin Hills (weather permitting), drivr by car to Htut Shwe village, to meet with Chin tribal villagers. Overnight stay at local home. (5-6 hours of trekking)

Day 3: Village - Aye Sakhan Village


Trek down from Htut Shwe village through Chin farms and forest, to Makyar village for lunch break. Trek further to Konlon Tha and Aye Sakhan villages along the lush forest trail. Overnight at a basic guesthouse in Aye Sakhan village. (5-6 hours of trekking)

Day 4: Aye Sakhan Village - Mindat - Bagan

One hour jeep drop to Shim village, then trek down through farmland to Chi stream, cross and then uphill trek to Kyardo village. Visit the family houses and break , then trek back down to the stream. Meet the car and drive to Mindat town for lunch break. Return to Bagan via Pauk and Pakkoku Bridge. (3 hours of trekking)

NOTE: Additional hours and days of trekking and can be added depend on guests desire . Combination of mountain biking is optional.

One and half hour biking from Ayesakhan village to Shim village, then trek down through farmland to Chi stream, cross and then uphill trek to Kyardo village. Visit the family houses and break, then trek back down to the stream (3 hours of trekking). Meet up car at Chi river and uphill drive by car to Mindat. Bike ride in Mindat town to see nose flute Makan woman hose and ride in town to hotel.

Drive to Sale' the small town located at south of Bagan. Visit the artistic crafts of old teak monastery, the lacquer ware Buddha statue and carry trip to the little Bagan of Sarle' village. Evening arrival Magway and sunset Ayyarwaddy view from famous Mya Thalon pagoda. O/N Magway.

Early morning left Magway to Padan junction, carry switched back road to the western ranges of Myanmar to Rakhine state. Visit Rakhine and Chin villages. Afternoon drive on the famous Ann pass of WWIi and overnight at Ann the valley town of Rakhine state.

Day 1. Yangon - Bago - Golden Rock (Car)

Drive to Bago, city tour covering huge four Buddha images of Kyaik Pun pagoda, Kyakhat Wyy monastry during lunch time, Shwethalyaung reclining Buddha, Shwemawdaw pagoda, Hinthagone pagoda, Snake temple and cheroot works, Kambawza Thadi palace and carry trip to the southern Mon state of Golden Rock base camp Kimpun village. Walking village and O/N at base camp.

Day 2. Golden Rock - Phaan (Car)

Visit Golden Rock top and meet up car at base camp. Drive to Bayint Nyi cave and Kawgun cave on the way to Phaan for a short visit. Cross over Thanlwin river bridge. Sunset and overnight in Phaan.

Day 3. Phaan - Mawlamyine (Car)

Visit around Mt.Zwegabin and Kyauk Kalat zedi, U Nar Out monasteries and Saddan cave. Carry trip to Mawlamyine, Queen Sein Done's old monastery, sunset view to Bay of Mottama and Phaan plain from the highest hillock of Kyaik Thanlan pagoda. Walking river side night market.

Day 4. Mawlamyine around (Car)

Heading to the south of Mawlamyine, visit Pottery village, Rubber, Durian, Mangosteen gardens, Kyauk Talone Hindu temple, Huge reclining Buddha of Win Sein temple, Thanbyu Zayat WW II memorial museum and cementry, the cape pagoda of Kyaikkhame seaview, fishing villages and back to Mawlamyine.

Day 5. Mawlamyine - Yangon

Early morning visit by boat to Gaungse' Kyun (Shampoo Island) and drive back to Yangon.

6 Day Tour - Naga Land Exploration, Naga Land of Layshi

The Naga land is located at the North Eastern part of India and north-western Myanmar. The tribes have similar cultures and traditions lived in both country. India Naga land is better infrastructure than Myanmar side. The major 3 towns in Myanmar north western mountains are

Layshi, Lahe' and Namyun. The highest peak of Naga land is Mt.Saramati (12552 ft.) located in Myanmar between Lashi, Lahe' and border of India.

There are 64 clans of Naga tribe lived in both countries. The Naga speak various distinct Tibeto-Burman languages, which they use between tribes and villages, each have their own dialect of language. The Naga tribes practised headhunting and preserved the heads of enemies as trophies through the 19th century and as late as 1969. At present rare to see the human head skeletons, but still kept in few hidden villages in Myanmar.

Annually they held the Naga new year festival held in January 14 to 16 alternatively in major 3 towns (Layshi, Lahe', Namyun). The Naga festival is reunion of faraway relatives, exchanging previous year experiences, to make future planning and to discuss how to solve difficulties. They pray for abundant crops and domestic animals and to have good weather.They worship to the spirits by scarifying the animals.

During the festival Folk dances and War dances performed in groups in synchronized fashion, by both men and women, depending on the type of dance. War dances are performed mostly by men and are athletic and martial in style. All dances are accompanied by songs and war cries by the dancers. Indigenous musical instruments made and used by the people are bamboo mouth organs, cup violins, bamboo flutes, trumpets, drums made of cattle skin, and beating log drums by warrior groups.

6 Day Tour - Naga New Year Festival (6 D/5 N) January

Day 1. Fly Mandalay - Khamti (07:00/08:15)

Khamti is the north most town of Chindwin river. Evening private boat excursion trip to the north most Naga and Shan villages of Chindwin river. Daily life of villagers bamboo rafting, fishing, making watergrass mattress, gold panning works. Sunset boat trip back to Khamti.

By ferry across Chindwin river to Sinthe' Naga village. 6 hours’ drive by 4 WD car to Lahe' on mountain switch backed road, passing green and lush forests, chatting rivers, friendly Naga villages by the road sides. Evening visit Naga new year ground and walk surrounding villages.

Watch Naga new year victory bamboo pennant pole erecting ceremony with their traditional dance.Visit New Year exhibition rooms and drive by car to Naga villages to the west of Lahe' town. Evening meet with the different Naga groups come from far north west Naga land.

Attending Naga new year festival events , watch their different culture folk dance and warrior dance playing drums and long wooden log in groups. Evening joining the new year bonfire festival events .

6 Day Tour - Chin National Day and Mt.Victoria Trek ( 6 D / 5 N )

This is a general program of the festival of Chin National Day, will be held in Mindat town of Chin state annually on 19-20 February.

The trip will be starting from Bagan and ending in Bagan.

This is a general plan, but we can move further villages by motor bike or trek depend on your idea.

Aye Sakhan village - Mindat (Trek 4 hours / Car 1 hour)

One hour jeep drop to Shim village, then trek down through farmland to Chi Stream, steam crossing then uphill trek to Kyardo village. Visit traditional houses and meet the villagers, then trek back down to the stream. Meet with the Jeep and drive to Mindat town for lunch break. Walk in town to join the festival in the evening.

7 Day Tour - Ayyarwaddy river Boat Trip

Ayyarwaddy river is one of the longest river, start from northern Myanmar Himalayas to the southern Bay of Bangal near Yangon delta. It's commercially use in the distance of 1350 miles. The boat trip down the Ayyarwaddy is started in northern Kachin state capital of Myitkyina town, set in a flat vallay. The famous towns by the bank of Ayyarwaddy river are Myitkyina, Bhamo, Katha, Mandalay, Bagan, Magway, Pyay and Delta towns nearby Yangon. The scenery along upper Ayyarwaddy is magnificent view of riverbanks with beautiful villages, lush forests, sandbanks and narrow georges.The boat trip along Ayyarwaddy river is good opportunity to meet the friendly local people and their daily lifes.

Day 1 . Mandalay - Myitkyina (By flight)

Fly to Myitkyina. Walking tour in town to market, train station, riverside , the old colonial buildings and evening by car to Myit Sone, the confluence of the mighty Ayyarwaddy river. Night market and overnight in Myitkyina Hotel.

Day 2. Myitkyina - Sinbo (Boat)

Early morning by Toke Toke to the jetty for the passenger express boat trip down along the Ayyarwaddy river. The narrow river views to the banks are lush forests and green gardens. Afternoon arrive to Sinbo the small village. Walking around village and sunset at the steep bank of Ayyarwaddy view to the first defile of Ayyarwaddy. Overnight in Sinbo guest house.

Day 3. Sinbo - Bhamo (Boat)

It's the narrow first george of Ayyarwaddy river, wellpool, rocks and the current is fast. This path is impossible to drive passenger express boats. The boat running between Sinbo to Bhamo is smaller than other parts of the river. Afternoon arrive to the wide part of Ayyarwaddy river with sandbanks. Walk in Bhamo night market. O/N in Bhamo Hotel.

Day 4. Bhamo around (Bhamaw)

Visit Bhamo market in the morning. Lunch at Kachin traditional food restaurant and evening by car to the ancient Sampanago city walls and the famous bamboo bridges of Tarpein at sunset. O/N in Bhamo Hotel.

Day 5. Bhamo - Shwegu (Boat)

This part of the river is famous for it's remarkable beauty of the second defile of Ayyarwaddy river. The second defile is 30 miles south of Bhamo and it's the most scenic views of the cliff on both sides and Parrot's beak, the water level marker for the boatman. The second defile ended before Shwegu. Visit Shwegu town and evening ferry trip to the island called Kyun Taw, thousands of pagodas and Buddha's relics enshrined. O/N in Shwegu Guest house.

Day 6. Shwegu - Katha (Boat)

Early morning visit by boat to Nat Pauk elephant camp and back to Shwegu jetty.

Express boat down to Katha. Walking tour in Katha town for old colonial buildings, George Orwell's house and tennis club.

Transfer by car to Naba railway station to follow night train to Shwebo. O/N on train sleeper.

Day 7. Katha - Shwebo (Train) - Hanlinn - Mandalay (Car)

Train arrive Shwebo in the early morning. Meet up car at the station and visit Shwebo market and Palace of King Alaung Phaya from mid-18th Century. Drive to the Hanlin , World heritage listed ancient Pyu city (estimated years 2000 to 5000) located at southeast of Shwebo. Visit museum, archaeological sites and villages.Evening drive back to Mandalay.
